How to Send a Google Calendar Invite from a Text
Published: October 20, 2026
Send a Google Calendar Invite Without Filling in the Form
Creating a Google Calendar invite usually means opening the event form, typing a title, picking a date, setting a time, adding a location and then typing each guest's email. With Text2Event you write one sentence instead: what, when, where and who to invite. It builds the Google Calendar event for you, guests included, and you save it to send the invitations.
How to Send a Google Calendar Invite from Text
Step 1: Write the Event the Way You'd Say It
Include who you want to invite. For example:
Team lunch on Friday at 1pm at Luigi's, invite ana@example.com and ben@example.com
Step 2: Paste It Into Text2Event
Paste the text into the Text2Event web app and press "Get a calendar file." You can also paste a message from a chat or an email.
Step 3: Add It to Google Calendar and Send
Click "Add to Google Calendar." Google Calendar opens with the title, date, time, place and guests already filled in. Press Save, and choose to send the invitations when Google asks.
Invite People by Name Instead of Email
If you invite the same people often, save a short alias once on your profile and write "invite mom" or "invite the team" in your text. Text2Event looks up the email and adds that person as a guest. Read more in Invite People to Calendar Events by Name, Not Email. Aliases are free.
Skip the Extra Click with Text2Event Pro
With a Pro subscription the event is created directly in your Google Calendar the moment you generate it, guests included. See how direct Google Calendar sync works.
What About Texting the Invite to Someone?
Google Calendar sends invitations by email and shows them in the guest's calendar. Text2Event does not send SMS or chat messages. If you want to tell someone by message app as well, send them a quick note after you save the event.

Google Calendar Invite FAQs
- Q: Can I send a Google Calendar invite by text message?
- A: Text2Event turns a short text description into a Google Calendar event with your guests added. When you save that event, Google Calendar sends the invitations to your guests. Text2Event itself does not send SMS messages.
- Q: How do I add guests to the event?
- A: Mention them in your text, for example "invite sam@example.com". You can also save short names such as "mom" or "team" as attendee aliases and write "invite mom" instead of typing an email address.
- Q: Can I invite several people at once?
- A: Yes. List several email addresses or aliases in the same text, like "Team lunch Friday at 1pm, invite ana@example.com and ben@example.com", and all of them are added as guests.
- Q: Do my guests need Text2Event?
- A: No. Guests receive a normal Google Calendar invitation and can accept it from Google Calendar or their email, whatever they use.
- Q: Is it free?
- A: Yes. Creating events from text and using attendee aliases is free, with no signup. Text2Event Pro adds direct Google Calendar sync, so the event appears in your calendar without the extra click.
